Job Description:

SEASONAL ROLE DATES: June 9th - June 19th

Tribeca Immersive is a portion of the Tribeca Film Festival that presents a programmed exhibition space of virtual reality experiences, held exclusively for 10 days at Spring Studios (June 9th - 19th). Tribeca Immersive showcases storytelling and technology pioneers in virtual reality, augmented reality, performance theatre, and other mediums. Immersive covers three categories; Cinema360 (360 mobile theater experience), Virtual Arcade (non-competition projects), and Storyscapes (competition).

Docents are utilized as guides for the Tribeca Immersive experience. Docents are familiar with the space, projects, virtual reality hardware, and procedures in order to present the best possible experience for attendees. Docents are often the first faces Tribeca Immersive attendees see. They assist in the waitlist sign-up process, move guests into and out of headsets, and troubleshoot as needed. Docents are assigned one project within the space by the Staffing Coordinator before they begin. All shifts are 7-8 hours long with a 30-minute break and take place at Spring Studios, 5th Floor, and various off-site locations.

We are in need of enthusiastic, professional, and versatile Docents that can jump in and have a great time. Candidates must be comfortable around technology, quick learners, and come in with a great attitude.


  • Maintaining and managing the assigned projects throughout all sessions.
  • Customer service interactions with attendees, troubleshooting, and answering questions related to space.
  • Confidently using WaitWhile iPad sign-up system with guests.
  • Using different forms of VR technology such as: Samsung Gear, Oculus Rift, HTC Vive.
  • Maintaining queues around projects, ensuring they are not interfering with the space.
  • Working alongside creators to ensure they are satisfied with the presentation.
  • Attend mandatory orientation. Details TBD.


  • Must have availability/flexibility to work 10-day contract, minimum 8/10 day contract.
  • Experience in VR (Samsung, Vive, Oculus Rift) not required, but a huge plus.
  • Enthusiastic, reliable, hard-working, work well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be tech-savvy, willing to learn new technology, fast learner.
  • Comfortable in customer service interactions with varying levels of guests.
  • Able to work well on their feet.
  • Candidates must be metro area based or able to provide their own housing nearby.
