Our unique immersion rooms are the new standard for VR: high-end headsets combined with dynamic heat, wind and rumble effects for maximum presence. We've raised £3.7 million to date and launched OTHERWORLD Hackney in April 2019 to rave reviews and critical acclaim, including The Times, Evening Standard, BBC News and Time Out. National and international expansion planned for 2021.

OTHERWORLD is an island paradise reached through a growing network of immersion rooms. Already the UK's favourite VR experience, over 50,000 people have visited OTHERWORLD including Adele, Skepta, KSI, Fnatic and Jonathan Ross, earning it Entertainment Venue of the Year in the Frame Awards 2020 and a nomination for the VR Awards 2020.

In 2021 we're expanding to additional four UK sites, launching an international franchise programme, and taking interactive entertainment to levels of immersion and presence which have never before been achieved. We are building groundbreaking locations that comprise bar, food and VR experiences, entertaining guests in all forms from single players to group or corporate events or just those who want to come in and have a drink and a bite to eat.

Job Description:

As a General Manager, each day will bring new challenges. You will build a passionate team and train them to become tour guides to a parallel universe. You'll guide them each day to deliver the full OTHERWORLD experience to our guests, whilst taking real ownership and responsibility for the growth and success of your site. You'll be a role model for OTHERWORLD's culture and ethos, creating new memories both for guests and your team.

Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, inspire, develop and lead a happy and high-performing team
  • Ensure an amazing experience for guests whether drinking, eating or using VR
  • Lead from the front to maintain excellent standards of guest experience, turning VR first-timers into regulars
  • Drive performance to grow your site's revenue, profit and guest satisfaction
  • Join us on the cutting edge of immersive entertainment and, above all, have fun

We'll help you to learn about the magic which makes VR and OTHERWORLD special, making the role a brilliant development opportunity for those looking to make their mark in the immersive entertainment and competitive socialising spaces.

This role is for a new OTHERWORLD location in the London Victoria area, opening to the public in June 2021. The role will start prior to this for recruitment and training of your team and preparation in advance of opening.

Requirements:

  • 3 years of experience as a General Manager in leisure, hospitality or retail
  • True passion for hospitality, service and guest experience
  • Commercially-minded approach, with the ability to drive OTHERWORLD's performance
  • Ability to work varied hours over the week including weekends and evenings
  • Positive, self-motivated personality with the flexibility to work in different scenarios and parts of the venue
  • Ability to travel to different locations throughout the UK to assist or train in other OTHERWORLD venues as required
  • Right to work in the UK
