Job Description:

As the Director of Marketing for Oculus Studios, you’ll be responsible for building an entirely new organization focused on owned studios (e.g.: Beat Games, Ready at Dawn, Sanzaru) and first party experiences (e.g.: Facebook Horizon, Oculus Venues). This is a unique leadership opportunity to build these experiences into famous franchises and establish them as leaders in their category. In this role, you’ll also be responsible for building and managing multiple cross-functional high-performing teams of marketers, creative directors, and designers that work closely or are embedded with respective studios. Our ideal candidate will be able to nurture and evolve diverse and distinct talent pools, team cultures, and goals to align with the specific needs of each franchise while creating a cohesive and aligned Studios Marketing organization. Additionally, this Director of Marketing will be tasked with creating a best-in-class testing-and-learn strategy that leverages the Facebook advertising platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • This team doesn’t exist today. You’ll be responsible for crafting a team vision, developing an organizational structure, building partnerships with each studio, hiring, and shaping a world-class marketing, creative, and design team
  • Oversee the development and execution of marketing plans for supported studios that contribute to title growth/engagement/retention and headset sales
  • Partner with the broader Oculus marketing team to inform marketing plans for the Oculus brand
  • Own day-to-day resourcing for studios marketing, including budgeting, headcount planning, and long range planning
  • Consult with broader product and business functions to provide insight on potential future studio acquisitions

Requirements:

  • 15+ years as a senior marketing leader with experience working closely with and/or managing creative, production, and design teams
  • Experience building long term marketing and brand plans
  • Experience owning or partnering closely with senior leaders in media planning and integrated communications strategy
  • Experience owning global marketing plans and managing global marketing teams across the Americas, Europe, and Asia
  • Experience with budget and resource management
  • Experience building, mentoring, and managing teams
  • Experience managing partnerships with external partners
  • Experience creating breakthrough, effective integrated marketing campaigns that drive measurable business growth
  • Experience developing partnerships with Insights, Analytics, and Decision Science teams to demonstrate marketing effectiveness and impact
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the virtual reality or gaming space
  • Experience developing and leading marketing teams at a game studio, media or entertainment brand
  • Experience utilizing the Facebook ads platform for testing and optimization
