Job Description:

The Augmented Reality Software Developer is part of an agile development team building and working on Web-based Mixed Reality projects, both internally and externally for our list of high profile clients.


Reporting to our Head of Technology, the duties and responsibilities of the Augmented Reality Software Developer include:

  • Working within a team to develop client projects to required specifications
  • Capable of independent working on client projects where resource / skill capacity is appropriate
  • Assisting in the collection and documentation of client requirements
  • Preparing UX flows for proposed client projects
  • Assessing feasibility of technology solutions to meet client briefs
  • Continuous upskilling of knowledge base to enable ability to take projects from development to live hosting
  • Creation of demos and promotional experiences to land client projects
  • Work on internal projects to enhance Aircards feature set
  • Analyzing and resolving technical problems including automated asset processing
  • Adhering to high-quality development principles while delivering solutions on-time and on-budget


The ideal candidate would have:

  • Experience with 8th Wall WebAR framework
  • Experience with AFrame and three.js
  • Experience with alternative webAR tools e.g. AR.js
  • Experience with ARCore/ARKit
  • Solid understanding of UX/design patterns in WebAR
  • Solid experience with Javascript, HTML, CSS
  • Ability to storyboard ideas and create UX flows
  • Ability to use design packages such as Photoshop and Sketch
  • Experience with CLI scripting and Github
  • Experience working with web APIs
  • Good understanding of cross-browser and cross-device testing
  • Experience with 3D modelling tools and paradigms e.g. Blender, Maya, GLTF

The essential skills required are:

  • Experience with 8th Wall webAR framework
  • Strong understanding of web and software development processes
  • Ability to code e.g. JavaScript, C, C++
  • Desire to learn
